Joja, Marie ; Sedlák, Robert (referee) ; Ponešová, Barbora (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the renewal of the Renewal of the Mill Grounds In Tasovice. The scenario of renewal includes four basic stages of recovery of the complex. In the first phase, grounds are cleaned and structures conserved together with defining exterior areas of the site that will be used for the second phase of temporary use in the form of cultural events of the village. In the third phase the approach is to restore individual objects and find appropriate functional content of each. The final stage is the functional filling of the entire complex and unification.
The Book
Novotná, Barbora ; Šrámek, Jan (referee) ; Vaněk, Vojtěch (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with creating an author's book, which, thanks to the absence of any text or illustration, balances the border between an object, a toy and its book form. Thematically, it deals with the play of light and shadow, fragility, delicacy and interactivity, which are processed using spiderwebs, and presented in an atlas format. The individual webs are sewn into the paper. When opened, a three-dimensional (pop-up) effect emerges, which in a light source forms another web of thin shadows that change when the book is being manipulated.
Dočasné využití nevyužívaných objektů - elektronická databáze projektů
Joja, Marie
This paper focuses on the evaluation of a process for creating a web database and conclusions resulting from the analysis of individual case studies. The database is a result of Specific Junior Research 2020 (FA-J-20-6365). The aim of the database is to map successful implementations of the temporary use of abandoned buildings in the Czech Republic and Europe. Forty projects from various European countries served as the initial entry. A key to the comparison of projects are the selected factors in the table of each project, with the possibility of using filters to sort out cases. These criteria, among others, briefly define a location, period of origin, listed monuments, ownership, a current state, principles of temporary use, architectural and urban design and possible variants of future functioning. The card also includes links to visual documentation and other relevant information. An essential component of the database is the ability to continuously update, add and edit project cards. Last but not least, the database should serve as a manual for potential future initiators of temporary uses and owners of abandoned buildings.
Pop-up: Aktivace nevyužívaných prostorů
Joja, Marie
Contemporary generation called “millenials” comes with a new lifestyle. Therefore market needs to adapt to it in order to keep up with current trends. The generation is provided with almost unlimited opportunities for their own realization. They spend most of their lives online, connected to social networks that determine cultural trends. Sharing experiences through blogs and posting photos is a new form of passing on experience. A difference between live experience and the one absorbed through social platforms is blurred. Enthusiasm for traveling and discovering new things does not match long-term planning and prefers short-term and temporary forms of operation. Therefore this lifestyle opens to pop-up trend. Pop-up is not one of new trends. Pop-up benefits from unlimited possibilities of newly arisen cultural scene as well as a number of abandoned and neglected places in the very centres of cities. Pop-up is a general term used with any form of business including gastronomy or cultural event which is strictly short-term. It profits from a moment of surprise, it offers an unexpected and unique experience “now and here”. In the US, the pop-up industry has a long tradition and there exist many servers that provide communication between owners of unused spaces and operators of temporary activities and this trend spreads among continents. Pop-ups abroad, a success of individual projects in the Czech Republic, the Czech pop-up cultural scene supported by a platform for communication and solving problems related not only to the legislative process are questions that will be analysed by this article.
Interpretace tradičních strukturálních principů v konstrukcích dočasného charakteru
Joja, Marie
The paper focuses on traditional structural principles of historical buildings of the era 18 to 19 century in the Znojmo region, which are also included in the project „Identification and interpretation of origins, forms and transformations of Baroque cultural landscape of the South Moravian Borderland“. The aim of this work is to describe traditional roof frames of selected historical buildings of the area. The goal of the work is to find a suitable construction detail applied in the traditional roof frames, which would be used for a structure of temporary character. Temporary structures are associated with transient functional use, which can be one of the possible phases in the planned restoration of abandoned sites. The existence of many examples at the international level demonstrates successful redesign of dilapidated buildings by the use of temporary programme. The analysis of traditional structures proposed a suitable structural joint for a design of a modular element for the construction of temporary architecture. Its characteristic is the low-cost production and simple construction, which can be relocated to other places and adapted for further use. The significance of the work lies in the design of elementary structures of objects of a transitory nature, which are based on the traditional building principles of historical monuments and try to preserve structural uniqueness of the architecture.
